Location and Travel

The conference will take place at the Canterbury campus of the University of Kent, United Kingdom. All sessions, coffees and lunches will take place in the Sibson Building. On arrival, please look for the registration desk in the building’s Foyer. All sessions will take place in Sibson Lecture Theatre 3.

The University of Kent campus is a pleasant 300 acre site which sits on a hill to the North of the city, providing spectacular views of the Cathedral and the Stour Valley. It is entirely self-contained, meaning that all venues are within easy walking distance. The campus is around 30 minute’s walk away from the centre of Canterbury, and served by a regular bus route. The compact city has a wide range of restaurants, pubs, shops and visitor attractions;. the Canterbury tourism website has a full listing of local attractions and events. London is approximately 60 miles away and is most easily visited by a one hour train journey from Canterbury West station.

Accommodation

Rooms are available on the campus, a few minutes’ walk from the conference venue. These can be booked and paid for at the time of registration. The University provides a virtual tour website showcasing the accommodation available on campus; this is also available as a mobile app for Android  and iOS  devices.

Alternatively, there is a wide range of hotels available in the city centre, although we advise booking early to secure the best rates. While we do not recommend any particular hotel, you may wish to note:

Victoria Hotel – Complimentary breakfast available to conference attendees – must be booked directly with the hotel and you should state you are attending the conference at the time of booking

Abode Hotel – Book directly with the hotel and state you are attending a conference at the University of Kent to obtain the best rates.
